Excited! That’s what I actually felt today –day 1 in my 90 day to a slimmer waistline program. In fact I was so excited I found myself up by 5 am! With the sun barely awake, I wore my jogging pants and shirt, drank four glasses of water with lime and began my brisk walk using the treadmill. The house was quiet as a mouse since everyone was still asleep. I turned the television on for company. The Lifestyle channel proved to be a good one as I watched Tough Love, and reflected about relationships as the girls tried to discover more of who they are while attempting to get to know certain male partners. 30 minutes passed by quickly. It sure felt really good sweating. Most of all, I felt a surge of pride and joy for myself for I recognize several essential things. Read the rest of this entry »
I’ve had enough of people commenting on my waistline! The worst question/comment being “Are you pregnant?” Not that pregnancy is a bad thing mind you. But to a single lady, OUCH! Now you get it! Okay, okay, so I gained a bit of weight in the middle. Blame it on the paperwork and getting addicted to online stuff and not enough movement this past year. Enough is enough! It’s time to get back on track. Today I make a commitment to get off the chair and start my 90 day regimen to shrink my stomach! Read the rest of this entry »
The things that bring me joy are the simple things that come with the dawning of each new moment. It is the wind and the water, the sunlight and the fresh air, the sunrises and sunsets and all of nature with her different seasons that bring with it different joys. Read the rest of this entry »
May 28, 2010 Friday was a time for some of the teachers to leave work for awhile and attend the Wellness Workshop for Educators at Don Bosco Retreat House. Responding to our request for individuals, groups or organizations and companies to buy a Wellness Gift Certificate as a way of saying “Thank You Teacher,” we were able to invite schools to send a a participant(s) for free.
Our deepest gratitude goes to the following sponsors whose generosity allowed us to launch the Wellness Workshop for Educators in order to jump start the promotion of wellness to our community: A-Plus Towing Services, Innoland Development Corporation, Surigao Simber Trading, Dynamic Minds Learning House, Dr. Diana Hatague Dental Clinic, We Love Organics, SIBS Publishing House, Brightwoods School. It’s been a month now since we started promoting our Wellness Workshop for Teachers/Educators. And I’ve been realizing a lot of things along the way. One nagging question that wouldn’t leave my mind was why are we bent on wanting a wellness workshop for teachers? I reached this point because brilliant ideas were popping here and there and everywhere–you know, even asking for individuals, groups or companies for sponsorship so we could send an educator to the workshop for free!

By open we mean schools may send representatives to the workshop and be treated to a whole day session of developing natural capacities for wellness and well being. Read the rest of this entry »
Loving Abundance is organizing a wellness workshop / wellness training for educators this coming May 2010. In the Philippines, the DepEd’s Essential Health Care Program (EHCP) was recognized internationally last 2009 as one of the best practices in primary health care among children (www.deped.gov.ph). As the education sector is now bringing health into focus, it is time we complete the picture and include the very people nurturing our children in school—the teachers, the educators.
We do know that teachers are one of the school’s valuable assets but too often they easily fall prey to stress. Handling classes day in and day out may sometimes take its toll thereby affecting their health and well-being and consequently their performance and productivity.
