Should you invest money and attend an internet marketing workshop? This is my internet marketing workshop experience which I would like to share with you. well, you know just in case you are thinking of looking for internet marketing advice. The idea of being happy and manifesting abundance in your life by seeing the benefit in all things and in all events can be pretty challenging; most especially when there are moments when every part of your body wants to complain and rant or rave. Can you relate with this?

Daisy and I attended an internet marketing workshop last Saturday, April 10. We were very excited to learn more on how to improve our current websites and blogs and earn more through them. We waded through the myriad doors and passageways of the hotel asking people where the information desk was. One hotel staff just looked at us blankly until one pointed us in the general direction of “over there.” So we walked “over there” and looked at the stairs (which was located at the left) and to the right (where people were eating)? We looked at each other and laughed. Finally, the front desk was found (all roads eventually lead you to the right destination); and after, we found ourselves in a low lighted room that seemed like a bar of sorts. I knew my mind balked at that point. I was expecting a conference room not a bar! I brushed that thought aside. How many moments in your life have you experienced something like this? Expectations flushed down the drain. Inconvenience stares at you in the eye balefully. And at this point, do you give up?
Of course, we didn’t give up. We sat on the round tables beside the bar counter and was asked to tear pages from a magazine of any particular thing that we liked-dream vacation, dream house, dream car, anything that you wanted. (How about you? Do you know what you want in life?) I already knew what I wanted! I have a book of my dreams with colorful photos placed in a folder. I also have my dreams written in word file which I can read easily. But we were students for the day and so we obediently tore pages of anything remotely resembling what we liked.
- What do you want in life? Why do you want to have an internet business?
The speaker arrived and was rushing and setting up his gadgets (laptop, iPod, etc) while we continued to flip through the magazines that we passed around. The talks in the morning were centered on oneself- your passion, your reason for wanting to have an internet business. We were encouraged to frame the pieces of papers that we tore from the magazines. We also were able to come up with our own personal mission statement (which if you haven’t done before) is very beneficial to define the things you truly desire in life. A lot of people have engaged in an internet business (or any business for that matter) and have quit because when the challenges come in, you just want out.
This is something very important to remember and it was a good reminder for me as well: If you focus on your goal and your vision, you will be able to surpass any challenges that come your way.
- Keep Your Focus on Your Goals, Your Dreams, Your Vision! Don’t You Quit!
There were two things that struck me that morning. Oh okay, make that three. The first one was that I am not very keen on change. This was evident when we were asked to move 7 steps forward and sit on another chair. I observe how I refused to budge from my seat because my things were already positioned properly beside me. I saw that if I move, I wouldn’t have any place to put my heavy laptop and handbag. And if you want to succeed in an internet business or in any ventures in life, one must be prepared for change. Change of mindset. Change of belief systems. Change of habits. So there I was recognizing that there were moments when I didn’t want to change. This made me laugh and I looked for Daisy who was already seated several tables away from me and mouthed the words, “me…no like change!”
The other one was the power of delegating. If there are tasks that you don’t like to do or you don’t know how to do, delegate! Find someone to do it for you and pay them! When the speaker mentioned this, I silently examined how I normally would do everything required because sometimes the people you delegate things to end up botching things up. That morning I recognized its power and if you are able to find persons who can really do the job well, then use the power of delegating. Saves you a lot of hassle and time doing time-consuming tasks (for instance in an internet business, find virtual assistants who can do social bookmarking, posting on the forums for you)
The third one was my reaction to the room and the lighting. I could feel I was getting drained from the not so positive energy of the place. At some point, I was yawning and trying not to doze off. Of course, it didn’t help that I had a tummy ache. Your physical wellness often times reflects your inner self or inner world. What was I feeling or thinking during that time to have caused me to feel all those bodily reactions? Hmmm…
YEHEY, FINALLY THE AWAITED PART!
After lunch, we now moved on to the most awaited part – the internet marketing lecture. There are several ways to earn using the internet, according to the speaker of our seminar: (1) Affiliate marketing (be an affiliate and market products found on clickbank, you get a percentage for each sale. Different products have different earning percentages); (2) Blog and Earn from advertisements (this is from Google Adsense; (3) Use blogging to Express; (4) Use blogging to give advise; (5) Use blogging to share your “daily finds; (6) Use blogging to rehash popular news with a twist; (6) Use podcast=internet show=Youtube Channel. At this point, I remember he shared about a guy who took the videos of tennis players during their practice. You know the slow motion when the tennis player would hit a ball. (Yeah) This person was earning money by selling these videos to tennis sites. (7) Sell E-Books using; (8) Sell a membership site based on a blog’s topic; (9) offer seminars or workshops based on your topic or the money making skills; (10) Become a mentor and teach what you know; (11) offer one on one online mentoring; (12) sell concert tickets.
This guy first earned income through the internet not through blogging but selling concert tickets and later on moving on to having an online mentoring class! This goes to show that the possibilities are endless and we need not despair. You see, we all need to find our niches and the path we all take may be similar and yet uniquely different.
That’s it? Yes, that’s it. There were other little details here and there but …
Did I learn something from this particular internet marketing workshop? I did not learn much about techniques (like how to get traffic or SEO or how to monetize your blog in the best possible way, which of course was a huge disappointment for me since I was there with that expectation in mind); but in the end, I recognize that I can choose to see the benefit in this situation and see the positive side of it or I can also choose to lament over the fact that I spent some money and didn’t get much from it.
Okay, I also must confess that I did rant and complained when I went home that day and even a day or two after the seminar. Of course! Duh… Obviously, I have come to terms with my disappointment and have chosen this path and acknowledge the things I am learning by writing them all down.

To continually manifest abundance in our lives, we have to have a winning attitude-that is, see the benefit in each situation so you can easily and powerfully move forward to achieve your goals and your dreams. So it’s time to move on! Go for your dreams. Learn more. Keep learning about internet marketing. Get the best internet marketing advice that works for you. Read. Ask. Go find the right mentor. Don’t let disappointment get in your way!

Internet Marketing is one of the best alternatives, not only to a 9 to 5 job that you may currently have, but as a complete career change altogether. Tons of money can be made on the internet and it is not really difficult once you know how the whole thing works and what to do and what not to do
