In The Land of the Loving

loving-child-abundanceThere in the Land of the Loving, two little girls skipped along pastel-colored pathways holding hands. The younger one was a constant visitor to this place of wonder. She led the way wearing an excited grin on her face, holding on to the older shy one while telling stories in rapid succession.

From a distance she sees a familiar face. “It’s Father!” she exclaims and runs toward this radiant being and gives Him a tight loving hug. The Father lifts her up in the air and turns around filling the place with joyous laughter. He puts her down and smiles to the shy one, who was standing still at a close distance, and says He was glad they could come. The younger one gleefully pulled the shy one close and quickly introduced them to each other with contagious giggles in between.

Amused by the ways of whom He calls His precious one and noticing the reluctance of the older one, the Father announces He has created a game made especially for the two girls. That broke the ice. The girls cheered with delight and requested they play the game immediately. Looking at them with endearing eyes, He tells them that all they need to do was to uncover LOVE hidden behind everything in the Land.

“That’s all?” the precious one asked. The Father nodded and off the girls went, taking on different areas running up hills and into the meadows, turning stones, crawling through bushes, climbing trees, and wading through ponds. The shy one silently and seriously collected all the beautiful flowers, leaves, smooth stones and the like. Suddenly, a joyful scream, “I found one!”. The giggling precious one ran towards the Father with the shy one running behind her. “Here’s Love!” proudly lifting up a bewildered frog. The Father laughs with delight and says, “Very good.”

This surprised the shy one, who quietly hid the things she picked behind her then reluctantly asked with a wrinkled nose, “How could that be Love? It’s full of mud and slime and it looks really ugly!” The Father and His precious one smiled simultaneously.

The Father knelt in front of the shy one, held her shoulder while saying gently, “Love is abundant in this place. It is seen everywhere from the flowers, to the leaves, the smooth stones….”Like these?” interrupted the shy one, revealing the things she gathered. “Exactly like those”, the Father continued seeing a smile form in the little one’s face. “Love is also seen in what others would immediately think as unpleasant like this frog here”, signaling the precious one.

Taking the cue, the precious one brings the frog close to the shy one’s face. The Father continued explaining as the frog and the shy one found themselves looking eye to eye, both frozen by the playfulness of the precious one. “If you look close enough, you’ll see how this frog plays an important role in this Land. It helps keep the balance of life. No matter what others think of it or does to it, it remains steadfast in its purpose”.

Taking the frog and holding it tenderly in His hands, the Father continued, “This frog trusts me enough to show its love for me by doing its part in my creation. Look beyond the dreadful appearance and see love in all its glory.” He affectionately thanked the frog and set it free. The frog joyfully hopped toward the pond relieved by its sudden stint as lead performer while the precious one hopped along with it, mimicking its sound.

The Father took pleasure at the sight of the two wonderful creatures enjoying life together then turned and carried the shy one, who was too stunned to wiggle her way out of this endearing act. He brought her beside the river where a million birds seem to be singing a chorus.

He sat down on a huge rock with the little one on his lap and said, “I have been longing for you to visit this land.” He whispered, “All that you see in this Land is my gift to you. From now on, you shall be called My treasured one.” The shy one hugged the Father tightly and sobbed with joy in the fullness of His Love.
And on cue the precious one joined the singing of the birds ” wheeeeeeeeee” while rushing to joinMichelle Simtoco Daisy Ba-ad loving abundance in the scene screaming “group huuuuuug!”

    The Story Behind this Story

I’ve always been enthralled by stories. I guess growing up far away from home, I yearned for moments when I could curl up under the blankets and listen to mom or dad tell me a story. So in my adulthood, there have been a few times I attempted to ask this question. “Can you please tell me a bedtime story?”

I asked half expecting they will say yes and half expecting they will say no. Almost all of them said no and I even got this answer once, “Goodness gracious! You are too old for a bedtime story. Why don’t you get some sleep.” Of course I laughed but deep inside it made me a bit sad.

Did I say almost all of them? Yes because one time Daisy said “yes.” And this was the story she told me… And I simply adored it.

  2. I just loved reading this story!! It’s wonderful, bravo!

Daisy, I learned something new about you today – that you are (or were) shy.

    Hi Shirley,

Who would have guessed huh? :) Thanks for reading this one. I guess I feel sentimental about this part. I never saw myself in the way she has seen me too. And I treasure that a lot.

    Hello Mike,

Oh it is simply beautiful to read about how you find joy in being child like in your quality time together. I wish more couples would do the same.

    My best to your family.

  9. Daisy says:

    Hello Shirley,

I didn’t start as a shy one. I became one only after I had those unpleasant experiences as a child. I felt soiled and fearful that I may not be pleasing to God the Father anymore. I wanted to capture that feeling showing the reluctance and hesitation of being in the presence of the Father of Love — not knowing whether I would meet His expectations or be rejected and then finding relief in His acceptance.

As with Michelle’s character hahaha I find delight in seeing her relate with the Father. They have this awesome relationship that touches me oh so very deeply. She could just BE with Him. Very much different from the image painted by our schools here.

I adore watching them relate like the best of friends. And now I have the same kind of friendship with Him too–ever loving and boundless. The love we share with Him is that which we want to share with the whole universe.

    love heals,
    Daisy
