Excited! That’s what I actually felt today –day 1 in my 90 day to a slimmer waistline program. In fact I was so excited I found myself up by 5 am! With the sun barely awake, I wore my jogging pants and shirt, drank four glasses of water with lime and began my brisk walk using the treadmill. The house was quiet as a mouse since everyone was still asleep. I turned the television on for company. The Lifestyle channel proved to be a good one as I watched Tough Love, and reflected about relationships as the girls tried to discover more of who they are while attempting to get to know certain male partners. 30 minutes passed by quickly. It sure felt really good sweating. Most of all, I felt a surge of pride and joy for myself for I recognize several essential things.
Loving myself more: I am doing this 90 day program to a slimmer waistline – a slimmer and healthier me because I am loving myself enough to take care of myself.
Commitment: By declaring it and writing it all down, I have sealed my commitment. I am proud of myself because I am excited about the whole process and I doing this from the mindset of abundance and love.
Positive outlook: I can see that all the positive things I have been learning and studying the past years is bearing fruit as I am now willing to apply all this knowledge to my physical body. No longer am I driven with fear with negative thoughts. “What will people say? Will they think I am foolish? What if I fail? Will this regimen really work?”
This no longer matters to me because I have learned that in order to live a life of loving abundance I must step into the threshold of acceptance. This way I am free to create a space of love for me to blossom. In this space there is no room for criticisms only encouragement, support and belief. Oh yes, belief that I can be all I can be – healthy, slim and beautiful!
And so this personal challenge becomes a joy not a burden. This 90 day program a journey. I choose to enjoy the journey! Will you enjoy yours?
Tips for Today:
Get a weighing scale and measuring tape. Write down your weight and your waistline measurement in a small index card or paper. Accept your weight and measurements. Remember no judgments or hatred for the self—just plain acceptance that this is your weight currently. Now tuck this paper away. The second time we will get our weight and waistline measurement will be on the 90th day.
Get a calendar to mark your exercise regimen. I would suggest tracking down your exercise habits by placing a check mark on the days you were able to exercise! All exercise programs must be approved by your doctor in cases where you have health problems. Otherwise a walking program is the safest. Don’t rush into it esp. if you haven’t been exercising for a long time. You can start with a 15 to 30 program three to four times a week and gradually making it to 30 to 45 to an hour. I personally choose to start with a 30 minute program daily; and next week increasing it to 45 then to an hour.
Drink lots and lots of water.
Say positive affirmations to yourself. Affirmations keep you on a positive plane and allow you to focus on the wonderful things about yourself and your body.
Do this journey with a good friend. I’ve invited several people to join me in this journey. I don’t know if they will. Well, whether they will join now or later is fine. But I am doing this journey and I am enjoying it! Woohooo!
Remember This:
Successful weight loss goals are not about quick fixes but are achieved by making lifestyle changes. To a slimmer waistline and a slimmer and healthier me!
