Loving Abundance

The Christmas Tree has been with us since the Middle Ages and it has traveled from Germany to England to all of America and to the whole world. From the 1800’s to the year 2000 its popularity has never waned instead it has grown into what I would consider as the expression of the Prosperity in Life and Love. From the smallest Christmas Tree found in doll houses to the biggest Christmas Tree recorded in the Guinness Book, found in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the Christmas Tree has managed to “evolve” with the times. For as long as I can remember,  Christmas traditions in the Philippines (in my home) begin with me joyfully associating the season with the following things:  My hormones jumping with excitement as I await the day I would board the airplane or the boat that would bring me home to my parents; taking on the role of “Santa Claus” for the week while I wrapped and delivered gifts minus the flying reindeers; house hopping to attend parties, partaking of the sumptuous and mouthwatering dishes, reconnecting and sharing of past experiences with friends and relatives; and most of all, getting the chance to celebrate mass as a family on Christmas day. This is a Christmas story of love.

There they were, two little ones, holding hands and smiling at each other like never before. The lit candles illuminated the joy in their eyes as they shared a tender moment on this night, the eve of Christmas.  The deafening sound of  fireworks and cheer around the neighborhood were muffled by the intensity of the love shared — spoken in silence. The fact that they were the only ones in the house on this very night did not matter at all rather it made the encounter even more special. Read the rest of this entry »
