I’ve had enough of people commenting on my waistline! The worst question/comment being “Are you pregnant?” Not that pregnancy is a bad thing mind you. But to a single lady, OUCH! Now you get it! Okay, okay, so I gained a bit of weight in the middle. Blame it on the paperwork and getting addicted to online stuff and not enough movement this past year. Enough is enough! It’s time to get back on track. Today I make a commitment to get off the chair and start my 90 day regimen to shrink my stomach!

Set a Goal
“In the measurement world, we set a goal and strive to achieve it. In the universe of possibility, we set the context and let life unfold.” – B. Zander
It is very important to write a goal. Write it down. Say it aloud. Share it if you must. Now remember one vital rule in writing your goal. Use positive words. Focus your attention on what you want to achieve. Instead of “I want to get rid of my excess belly fat”; replace it with “I want to have a slimmer waistline.”
Why 90 Days? Why not 30 days or 40 days or 50 days?
I believe that losing weight and staying slim and healthy is always connected to a change of lifestyle and developing healthy habits. This is a belief system that you must have for this 90 Day regimen to work. I don’t agree with quick diets or deprivation of the self. The result is losing weight quickly (true) and gaining it back as quickly (right?)! So let’s make it into a 90 day journey to acquire new and healthy habits to a slimmer you! And me, of course!
Get Moving
You can have the option to choose whatever exercise or activity you want to be involved in. The important thing is to get moving. Move, move, move! In my personal experience, I gained belly fat because I have slowed down the number of times I hiked or rode on a bike or did belly dancing!
My personal choice for this 90 Day to a Slimmer Waistline is to do brisk walking on the treadmill at least 30 minutes to an hour daily. And if I get really bored, I will be doing other things like swimming, belly dancing, biking, aerobics, yoga! (More of this next time.)
Eat Mindfully
There will be hundreds of tips on which is the best food to eat, what combination of food group, when to eat it, how much to eat and the list is endless. In this 90 Day program to a Slimmer You, I would advocate Mindful Eating. This is simply and awesomely savoring the food and at the same time visualizing the food nourishing our bodies. Mindful Eating Habits
Drink lots of Water
Flush out the toxins from your body by drinking 4 glasses of water when you wake up in the morning. Do this an hour before you eat breakfast.
Another way is to squeeze a small lemon in the two glasses of water and add a pinch of salt. Follow it with two glasses without the lemon.
Say Affirmations Daily
Be grateful for your body. Accept your body. Love your body. Affirm your body with positive words. Love it. And your body will cooperate with you.
