The office was quiet except for the whirring sound of the
air conditioner. Bent over papers and poring over figures, my attention was riveted to the shrieks piercing the silence. The screams were getting louder as the children neared the playground. It was such a cheerful sound! I couldn’t help it. I burst into a pleased smile.
I stopped from my paperwork and opened the window. The faces matched the gleeful shrieks. “Oh, to see the joy in their faces was simply a delight to behold!” One child turned and saw me. “Hi teacher!” She shouted happily. Their high spirits just rubbed off on me. It was contagious. I stayed there for awhile just looking at them.
I’ve observed kids for years now and I’ve seen how they view the world quite differently. In the eyes of a child, common objects become a source of enjoyment. Amusement is found in the simple acts of running, making funny sounds or building tower blocks. You see the wonder and awe when they make new discoveries.
Their dreams are expansive. And most of all, they love purely, totally without questions.
“Thank you God for the kids.” I told Him quietly. “They always bring out the child in me.” “I know.” I feel Him answer in my heart with a hearty grin. “I’m glad you never stopped being a child at heart.” “You taught me well!”, I quipped, grinning back at Him. A shared silence commenced, caressed by tender loving care as we both watched the kids enjoy life.
Gratitude and love filled my being. I breathed in the richness of life, closed the window and joined the excitement of reveling in God’s abundance.
C’mon! Join us as we uncover the world in a new way — looking through the eyes and heart of a child!

Daisy and Michelle:
What a beautiful site you guys have created! Have bookmarked it to read and enjoy during my quiet times, while sipping a cup of tea.
Today, I celebrated my birthday, and my soulmate gave me a card congratulating me for being 6 years old. LOL! I did the same for his birthday in August, next year we will be all of 7. I have found that when one opens up to Love, we become like children again in the sense that we let playfulness, laughter, and wonder enter our space again. I lost it for a very long time, and am happy I recaptured it four years ago; now I am a baby boomer, better late than never.
Will be back, and thank you both for entering my awareness.
Much love,
Marie
Michelle, I love how you seem to come to life when you talk about the kids. There’s a delight in your words and a special ‘light’ that comes through.
What a gift for you all, and also to the rest of us who feel those happy ripples.
Thank-you for sharing such wonder.
Love Shirley

Hi Marie,
What a beautiful and cute sharing! As I read people’s stories about how they allow their child in them to come out, I am truly touched. What you say is so true about being a child at heart again. We forget so easily. This site is dedicated to remembering the child in all of us. Thanks for reading and leaving a comment. I am blessed today.
